Empty nest couple here who have just moved to Denver last week from cross country. Husband has about 10 or so years left to work and his industry is here. I'd like to find a Victorian home with an apartment or two within the home for short term rental/Air BNB usage. We'd live in the main part of the house.

Any recommendations for some areas with Victorian homes that would also be great locales for short term rentals? You know, an area that is walkable near great restaurants, bars, parks, etc in which the rental would be highly desirable.

I'm thinking in terms of being here long term, and with retirement on the looming (decade) horizon, it might be a good idea to get a place that generates some income. Also, I can put young adult kids or elder parents in the apartment, as needed.

Thanks very much for any recommendations of areas/neighborhoods!

Ouch I just got knocked over and scratched by a tumbleweed blowing through here. I can't hear anything. The wind is whistling and blowing so hard in these here remote parts of CD. Anyone here, anyone out here?

Calling davebarnes and SkyDog77. I'm guessing you're going to have to either be closer to downtown (Wash Park or Bonnie Brae) or an older burb like Golden. Either way, be prepared to shell out a LOT of cash.

Bonnie Brad and Wash Park don’t have any Victorians.

Expect the price to be $1.5M+ , needs work ($200-700K).
Connect with Jenny Appel as she lives in one at 38th and Raleigh.

How much cash are we talking about? I can go to around give or take a million. I've got some naysayers saying don't buy in Denver. I don't see prices going down much, to be honest.

I'd like a Victorian with a foyer, fancy staircase, high ceilings, and fancy moldings.

You are more likely to find a Denver Square or a Craftsman bungalow before you’ll find a Victorian in Denver. The town just wasn’t built that way.

Hmmm...confused, let me drink a few cups of coffee.

Oh okay. I've seen a few of them on Zillow but not many. I just have this fantasy of bringing my husband a cup of fancy tea sitting in the parlor.
