Denver Squares are nice. I have been in many of them. Not as elegant as a Victorian, but similar style inside. Congress Park, City Park, Capitol Hill area is loaded with them.

Those houses are amazing too. Love them! Thanks, I'll check those areas out!

It is fun to think about all the possibilities in retirement.

This looks like what you are thinking about (although not Victorian, more Denver Square). Near the Denver Botanical Gardens.

This one has more of a Victorian flair.

This one says Victorian but to me it isn't. However I think the inside is really nice.

First you would need a rental license if you offered more than 30 day terms. https://www.denvergov.org/Government...sked-questions

There are new landlord tenant laws you need to consider.

I have noticed may real estate professionals who should know better, call anything built between 1870 and 1940 with little bit of embellishment as a "Victorian". Sure, you could argue they do that because the buying public doesn't know any better, which may be true as well. Reality is there are numerous styles and types of houses from that era that all have their own name.

I love looking at old homes and Victorian homes in particular. But for retirement I am impressed with all the redone bungalows that pepper the historic Denver neighborhoods. For myself, I would want single level living. But the OP has a vision and I enjoyed looking up some possibilities because I like the more ornate style. :-)

The first one is two Denver Squares side by side.

I just did a google and found this site. Holy cow, some of these are expensive. However, I do see several that are @ $700k+ so that's good to see. Some of those staircases are to die for! Wouldn't mind finding one that hasn't been too modernized ie all the gorgeous dark wood painted white, the vintage fixtures changed out for modern ones, etc. Sometimes, the historic houses get so rehabbed that they look like modern new builds. I need to find a good eccentric cat lady seller who has kept the place as- is for decades and decades!

That 12th Avenue property has been on the market for ever and ever. I remember seeing it last year listed. I wonder why it hasn't sold? 285 Pearl has an incredible staircase and foyer but for some reason, they don't show a photo of that. Wonderful home but maybe more commercially suited- the house is right across from a gas station. I'm guessing that's why it hasn't sold. I'm very surprised 610 Downing hasn't sold yet. Looks like a great house to me!

There are some Victorians in West Washington Park and Baker neighborhoods.

610 Downing is heavy street traffic. One house off of 6th avenue (very busy) and on Downing (moderately busy)
