I've lived in Evergreen since the 70s. No I'm not that old! Well, maybe. My family vacationed here in the 60s. I lived as a single here for many years. There is lots to do - mostly revolving around outdoor activities. We have a snow-boarding area that is great now, hiking, snow-shoeing, biking is very hot. Main street clubs are great places to meet new peopleIt's also a great area for families. Excellent schools, rec centers, etc. don't be afraid to find out more about the area. Email me if you need more info about the area. There are great little neighborhoods that are still very affordable.

Megrock-- what little areas are still affordable? We looked there, and the decided it was too expensive-- plus wondered if our kids would feel left out due to not being "rich". Thanks.

I live in Evergreen now and it is indeed very family orientated. I would suggest the Hiwan area. There are elementary schools within walking distance and mothers are out walking with their kids all the time. I work down in Denver and usually take the bus (Mine leaves at 6:36 and gets into downtown Denver at 7:07 - express) The drive with no traffic is 27 minutes from Hiwan to downtown. I absolutely love it here!

Default Evergreen, CO

We are also looking to move to Evergreen. The area seems beautiful. I have several questions:
What is it like for teenagers in Evergreen?
If someone has fibromyalgia, what effect does the altitude have on it?
How far away is nordic skiing? What is the High School like there (from a teenagers perspective and parents)

thank you,

Does anyone know if it is possible for a person with heart disease to live in the mountains or visit there? I have a son moving there with grandkids and wondered about that.

Best to check with your doctor and maybe get referal to a specialist. Caution is good but the answer depends on specifics of the individual. For most it will be ok if they take their meds and don't over-exert.
