I am thinking about buying a KB Coach Home in Stapleton recently. I was at its model house yesterday. Housing market is bad indeed these days. Only one or two groups of people were there between 3-5pm yesterday. The same as other builders too.
Back to KB Coach Home. It gets a mixed reviews on this forum which makes me feel real hard to make desicion. But what I feel so far is that people who against KB dont seem to be based on their own experience. And they actually didn't list solild examples of what went wrong. (I might be wrong on this point). Is it because KB sells at a cheaper price which tends to make people feel that it has bad quality? On the other hand, from my memory there are many KB home owners did give good comments on KB.
So if you are a KB home owner or you heard any stories about KB home, could you pls share your experience below? Especially your comment on KB Coach home at Stapleton is much appreciated.

you need to have any home you buy inspected.

I haven't sold any of the larger KB Homes - but I helped buyers contract for 3 or 4 over the years around the metro area, and at the inspection came away with pages of corrections. Consistently the most, by far.

When I looking to buy last year, my realtor told me "we would have to have serious conversation" if I considered buying a KB home.

I looked at one in Thornton, and found many issues on my own.

I've never owned one or know anyone who does, so have no personal issue with KB.

Consumer complaints about KB Home

I can't believe they let KB build in Stapleton. Oh well, at least it is not DR Horton.

It is against the TOS to make consumer complaints, because we only hear one side of the issue and the accused has no way of telling their side. So if you want to give a negative opinion on KB homes, please send a DM (direct message) to the OP.

Generally I would agree; but that stance is rather retarded given the easily available accounts of KB issues via any search engine.

Do you work for KB? Does this board receive money from KB? You make a strong case that either or both are true -- which further invalidates the value of this forum.

No, I do not work for KB nor do I receive money from them. Consumer complaints however are against the Terms of Service, please read them.
A link is provided in my "signature"...

here is a snippet regarding consumer complaints

This is not the right place for consumer complaints. Such posts present defamation issues and they don't give the other side the opportunity to present their side of the argument.

For that reason complaints are not allowed to be posted here, however members are free to send DM's to the OP.

I have a friend who bought a KB Coach House home here at Stapleton and there were a few minor issues they corrected before closing, but I haven't heard any complaints from him since. I've heard the horror stories, but then we have plenty of neighbors living in KBs and I never hear complaints.

Default KB Homes

I don't believe it is fair to make fun of the mentally challenged in replies and since the English vocabulary is quite large, lets use other words.

With that said, I agree with the home inspections....even if KB had NO problems, your house could be the exception....just a lazy sub that plugged the plumbing with a beer bottle for example. I completed an inspection prior to purchasing and prior to the 12 month warranty date...$250 each time, well worth the piece of mind. Builders are only as good as thier ability to manage the sub-contractor.
