As far as litter along roadways, it has gotten a bit worse over the past 12 years I've lived here. Mainly due, I think, to many people moving in including numbers from places where there isn't the cultural frown for tossing trash. In the past couple years I've been to Boston, Vancouver BC and Montreal, and all have more of a street trash issue than Denver.

It's been increasing getting dirty lately. The last 10 years or so when I lived near Denver until last year, you could see the trash along the shoulders of I-25 and I-70. Some of it is noticeable near the state capital and civic center. It doesn't help when the city caters to the homeless. Send an e-mail to the mayor Hancock and address the problem.

Weird. The last couple times I've been to SF. (Just this past summer.) I saw trash everywhere walking through the streets.

Cleaner than LA, cleaner than Spokane, dirtier than Portland, dirtier than Seattle, dirtier than Phoenix (no pun), cleaner than Chicago, dirtier than Toronto.

WOW - this thread is from 2007 people! TEN years ago.
Why (or how) Alan Walker found it and decided to revive it is beyond me...

In my opinion, Denver has gotten cleaner in the center of the city. I do think many of the neighborhoods and suburbs are about the same or a little less clean then they used to be.

Denver has always been a relatively clean city, but certainly is not the cleanest.

Our employees would lose their jobs, but we would have a higher quality of life. The main offramp "Park Ave" coming into the city is piled with trash on both shoulders. The new light-rail has a fence that runs the stretch of the tracks and trash is now piled up on the windward side of the fence. This is not my opinion, go look at these areas, these are facts. Also the homeless population continues to grow bc the city programs encourage homeless to move here. They setup shanty tent communities outside of restaurants and main streets. They use the main sidewalks as bathrooms. The new Union Station is crawling with drug addicts. A tourist coming for the first time would see a heap of filth. Ive been here 20yrs. If it were me visiting for the first time, I would never come back. Its embarrasing when family visits. I have to try and make excuses for the governor. Think im done. Saddens me.
What city programs encourage the homeless to move here? Why do you have to try and make excuses for the governor? Even though you say this isn't your opinion it actually is. Others here may think it is dirty but others don't. That is what makes it your opinion.

Buh Bye!

My guess is Alan Walker is just another naysayer about our city and found the right thread to bash it.

You think denver is dirtier than Los Angeles? You've got to be kidding. I can't take the rest of your post seriously if you believe that to be true, as it's uncategorically false.

Yes, that did mean to be a "cleaner". My bad. I fix.

It's interesting though because when I moved here 10 years ago, I thought Denver was much cleaner than Boston, where I had moved from. But in 10 years, I do think it's gotten dirtier - people seemingly happy to just toss trash out of their car and let it go wherever it goes and no one seems to be responsible for cleaning it up.

Even in my stepford community of Stapleton, I'm always picking up trash that has ended up in my yard.
