Need work on a 4Runner done... (Denver, Louisville: inspection, live, prices)

I bought a used 4Runner 3 months ago...

Since then the check engine light has come on and I've noticed a few things that irk me (some ac dial lights don't work, the front license plate can't be put on and the windshield washer fluid system freezes easily) and I just want everything taken care of without getting bent over at a dealership.

Any suggestions?

I moved here about 2 1/2 yrs ago and never had to get anything on my old vehicle done while I lived here.

A bit pricey and, no, I don't work there. I also recently purchased a used 4Runner. A close friend is a lifelong 'Yota owner' and swore by them. Many former Yota techs work there and they know their stuff. You can get a previously owned vehicle inspection for $90 too - top-to-bottom look-over with an eye towards Toyota-specific issues. I've used Elder Auto on a few occasions and would recommend them. They're right near Pro Auto Care, oddly enough!

Thanks for that share. Just curious - how's their pricing? No doubt that Pro Auto Care does great work but I got quoted some prices that were ridiculous. I wanted to get my inspection done @ Pro and then settle in somewhere for the long haul. Reasonably priced?

you are using fluid which is at least -18C or better yet -25C?
if its regular water, you better wait till spring or - just go somewhere thats above zero so the water can melt and you can replace it with proper washer fluid.

i hope you can do this little thing by yourself. having a (working) washer fluid system is absolutely neccessary.

I'm not sure how Elder's pricing compares to other places. It's definitely cheaper than going to a dealer service department, but I'm not sure how they stack up against other independent shops. I usually try to do my own work on my Jeep but have used Elder twice when I didn't feel confident in my abilities. I thought prices were reasonable but haven't been anywhere else to compare.

"Here" is Denver...And the fluid I think I can just fill up, spray it all and then refill it to cleanse the system. I just need to do it. But, another thing is only 1 of the 3 nozzles actually sprays anything on each sprayer and so it's just a little annoying. I'm anal, I know...

"Denver" covers a very large footprint. I was hoping for more specific location.
