I'm going to be moving to Denver in the near future, I'll be working right around the 470 and 25 intersection down south, so I'm curious what are good areas down there. I'd like it to be in a good school district, little more suburban but still close to some shopping and restaurants, probably be looking in the $250-$300K range.

All of the areas near three are good for living, shopping and restaurants. You could be in Douglas County Schools, Littleton Schools, or Cherry Creek School District, all of which are good.

Yep - all 3 are very good districts. See my post under 'Centennial' for a description of the western, older part of Centennial. Your price range fits right in and you are close to shopping and restaurants of all kinds.

There's a lot of shopping near that intersection. All 3 school districts are good around there, and you'll find a nice variety of suburban housing. You'll just have to narrow it down to what you find attractive about a dwelling.

I came across this post a little late, but thought I'd add my two cents...

If you purchase a home in the Cherry Creek High School feeder you'll find the yards are enormous compared to Highlands Ranch. We have a forest in our backyard and love the ample space for our children to play in. We have a trampoline in our yard and plenty of space to throw a football, bbq and set up the slip'n slide before we start bumping into eachother. We love it, but we love yard work, too.

Also, it doesn't seem too suburban where we are because we walk to EVERYTHING from the library, movie theater, restaurants, light rail and the new Sunflower Market (it's like Whole Foods, but better prices). We love where we live.

As far as schools are concerned...they seem great, but that's just my opinion. My children have been in several schools in Colorado and Pennsylvania and the schools here are fantastic here.

If I can ask, where do you live- this all sounds fantastic- like everything we're looking for- it's a little overwhelming right now looking at all the houses in the CCSD- lots to choose from.

If you give us a list of the things you want and some things you don't the fine posters on this forum will give you some direction.

I doubt the lots are significantly larger in Centennial than in HR. I don't doubt the commute would be easier if the job was in the DTC.
