For the most part, June is a very nice weather month for Detroit. It can get humid (though usually not as much as July). Severe weather is possible, but not common.
Particularly in the first week of June, it -can- get chilly, but usually won't. It has been cold enough at night to get snow, but is has (as of 2010) never happened - the mechanism to make it cold enough - a polar mass of clear dry air - also lacks the moisture necessary for snow.
One thing about summer is that it is the "least variable" time of year. Almost every day from mid-June to late August will have a high between 78 and 89 (about 26-32 Celsius), compare this with April, May or October, when you may be shoveling snow whilst the bathing suit you wore yesterday is in the washer (LOL).
