I just rescued a 6 week old puppy who was labeled a "lab mix". However, we aren't sure if he has any lab. He is blue merle so we were thinking maybe an Australian Shepard and looks like a pit bull or boxer. Any ideas?
very veyr difficult to say at that age
from the ears and head shape id say theres mabe some pitty in there, many breeds come in merle but if they think lab mix im thinking mabe catahoula instead, many catahoula leopard dogs are mistakenly labled as lab mixes and the catahoula x pit or american staffordshire bull terrier is a very common mix with hog-doggers (people who breed dogs for hunting hogs/large game)
either way hes absolutly adorable...will be cool to see himgrow...
you DO plan on sticking aroundand posting pitures once in a while...right?!
What a sweet baby! I'm going with catahoula too! I just saw a 6 week old cutie yesterday at Petsmart...what a little doll!
It will be interesting to see who he grows into - and yes, you WILL be around to send more pix! You have to. It's a new rule I just made up on the spot - s/he who posts puppy pix must return.
Catahoula! That's what I've come across in my research as well. Thank you so much for your replies! I will definitely post more pictures of him I forgot to mention his name is Brody. We found out he was actually 5 weeks old when we bought him from the rescue so he's currently 7 weeks. He's growing like a weed! He's grown about 4 inches in two weeks! I uploaded some pictures of him on a flickr account for you to see!
Since he's single coated with short hair I figured he wasn't shepard. But I found a picture of a great dane puppy that looks just like him! Could he be a "Great Labradane"? Or is a Catahoula more likely?
