These dogs are mostly Husky, which are very popular dogs in Canada and Alaska. The photo below was taken by me shortly after the start of The Yukon Quest, a sled dog race that this year started in Fairbanks, Alaska, and ended in White Horse, Canada. Next year the race will start in White Horse, and end in Fairbanks. Anyway, there was a huge crowd at both sides of the road, and I barely managed to take a few photos between the people everywhere. Aren't these good-looking dogs?
I need to show this pic to my hoodlums.
"You see? They wear their dog boots without complaint. THAT is how a real dog wears boots!"
Beautiful photo. On my bucket list is to go up and see the beginning and/or end of the Iditarod. I blame Jack London for that.
