Can't find where this story was mentioned before. Lady died and wanted her dog euthanized because of some aggression problems from time to time. Social media jumped in and now the dog has been saved.

I heard rumors there is more to the story, including possibly being an end-around for paying for the lifetime care program.

Update to Bela's story.

Sunday morning, Bela’s caregiver noticed that his abdomen was distended and he was breathing rapidly, according to the Best Friends Animal Society website. Bela was taken to the Best Friends clinic and was diagnosed with a fast-growing cancer.

Bela was euthanized Sunday and will be cremated so the ashes can be sent to be buried with his owner in Indiana.

Very sad for sure. At least the dog was in good hands to be diagnosed and the lady will get her wish to have her dog's ashes buried with her.

Sad yes but maybe the stress of the loss of his beloved human triggered the cancer as German Shepherds do form very strong loyal bonds with their human. and stress does weaken the immune system.I like to think that now he is happy with his human again on what ever journey follows our physical life here on earth.

It was heartening to see how many people wanted to step up and help Bela to his final home.
