I was recently told that I might have to chip my 4 month old puppy inorder to bring her to the United States. She's only 4 months old and I refuse to chip her. Why? I don't want a microchip in me or my child, why would I think it would be best for my dog to have one?

I know you dog owners will come in here and cry about how I shouldn't be a pet owner. Well I say if you have a microchip placed in your dog. It's you, who shouldn't own a pet.

So are you for microchipping your dog, Yea or Nay?

Uh...Yea.

Why wouldn't you? It's about the size of a grain of rice, they don't feel it, and it could save their life. It's a no brainer.

Mine actually has two, they did the second one by mistake.

I don't see the problem or reluctance to a micro chip...it could be a life saver...collars can be removed, and the chip would still be there. It's not like this would harm your pet...they're tiny and it's basically like giving them a shot...it's not harmful at all.

This is how it starts, for you mirco-chip your animals, then the government makes the case to start micro-chipping humans. Can you all see this is a plot from big brother to enslave the human races. What lemmings you are, what lemmings you are! I'm not a big religious nut, so I won't even go into the mark of the beast!

Most people do not want the government involved in their business. However, when something happens, many want the government to be held responsible. You state that you would not want you or your child to be chipped. I guarantee that if your child disappeared that you would be begging for something to be done. If your pet disappears and your child is begging for it, you will wish you had your pet chipped. In that event, hindsight will not work. I see that you post from San Salvador, but here in the USA, we call microchipping being responsible. We expect adults to behave like adults. Pets behave like pets. They wander, just like children. If you are a troll on this board, then we get it. If you are for real, it's time to be a responsible adult. Maybe you should stay where you are.

For most people, it's a no-brainer. Would would wager if you ask anyone whose pet has gone missing if they were sorry they opted not to microchip, they certainly would be.

Yes we have micro-chipped both of our dogs! They never even felt it. We litterally researched the pros/cons to death for several months and spoke to a variety of vets. Sorry, but the pros totally out number the few cons. Plus, if it was a regulation to keep my dogs with me where ever I went...I wouldn't hesitate to do so! My dogs are my children.

When my dogs were let out of my yard by a meter-reader, the only way I found out that one was dead was b/c he had a chip and animal control called me. The other one came home by herself but I would still be wondering if Charlie was alive somewhere if not for that chip. And yes, I woujld get a chip ofr myself if offered. Think of 9/11 and how much worry a chip could have saved (but that's for the political board).
