I found one of those lasers in the pet store cat section when we were visiting my son. His kittens loved chasing the little red dot all over the place. Since he and his fiancée already had one, I brought it home with me. I thought Annie, our Golden Retriever would be interested since she is such a ball dog. To my surprise, our rescue German Shepherd, Kaiser, went into a frenzy chase after the dot, just like the kittens. Made me think that he grew up with cats. Now when we take him out into the yard, he waits for the red dot to appear for the chase.

Does anyone else have a dog that chases a laser?

I know many people use them as entertainment for their dogs, but I advise caution. Becoming so focused on one particular thing can cause a dog to have other issues.

I have one and two of my dog like chasing it. I limit it to not even five minutes every couple of days. Never point it in their eyes or any humans eyes!

My dog loves to chase those lasers! It's so much fun. They tend to break or get lost so easily in our house, so they never last long.

The warning against shining in the eyes is a good one. Not everyone knows better.

Our Cat and both Mals go crazy over that stupid light, but our rescue mutt (dumb as a rock) could care less...go figure.
