Went by a house today. They had two shih tzus and a large tomcat. The cat was as big as the two dogs. The female shih tzu came to us and was wanting to be petted. The male was a bit more shy, but he wanted to play. They seemed well-fed, but they were slightly matted and they had fleas. The Tomcat walked up to the female dog and rubbed his face into hers.

TB will be fine, I had to leave my drama queen for almost 2 weeks in January, under similar circumstances, and he was just fine. Focus on your family, they need you more than TB right now.

I heard firecrackers go off tonight and my neighbor's chocolate lab (who was in a pen) tucked his tail between his legs and tried to run somewhere. Of course he was in no danger, but I guess the sound scared him. I had never seen a large dog scared by fireworks before.

Last night our male border collie mix was terrified of the few firecrackers that went off. Trembling and clingy.Over the top kind of terrified. I tried not to make a big deal of it and kept at what I was doing but letting him wrap around my feet. I was standing working at the kitchen counter. Is there anything I can give him to help? He will be SO freaked tonight when the fireworks really happen. I know about the music I can close him on our large walk in closet with music. I know sounds mean but he sleeps in there all the time on his own so it is a hidie hole for him. We do not have a solid door on it but I could hang a quilt over the door way to soften the sound. Put a chair in there for me and take a book. Sheese.

OH Wahhhh I tried to keep him from being afraid when he was little and every year he gets worse. Our other dog does not like them but she is not like this guy. She deals with it. Hummmmmmmmmm Maybe all three of us should go in the closet.

Ideas??

Chris
