Our dog is 7 years old and 75% Dachshund and 25% Beagle.

We just had 2 new French doors installed and once or twice a week he urinates on them.

The doors divide 2 rooms and are always kept open.

Very seldom (once a month ) did he urinate in the house before the doors were installed.

Not sure what to do.

How are you cleaning the urine off? Dogs can smell somewhere in the realm of one drop of urine in a gallon of water. So if you're just washing them down with cleaning solution and water, he can still smell it. You'll need to use a product specifically designed to break down the urine completely. Your local pet store should have something in that order. Not to pitch one brand over another, but I use Natures Miracle.

I used 409 to clean it.
Also tried Natures Miracle and the dog licked it and later urinated on it.
Thanks for the suggestion.

The easiest thing would be just to keep him away from the doors if possible.

Barring that, it sounds like it's time to re-teach him to be potty trained. When he's out, you watch him. If you can't watch him, he gets crated or penned or something where he can't get to those doors.

I suggest retrying the enzymatic cleaner though. If you don't like nature's miracle, there are others.

Thanks, will give the cleaners another try.
