Is the economy in a Mexican standoff? Business won't hire, consumers won't spend, and the Fed is low on ammo.

Who's going to move to get things going and keep us from closing up shop? As this standoff continues we keep slipping lower and continue to make a bad situation worse.

We don't need scolding government rhetoric, talk of higher taxes, and overly restrictive governmental regulation. We need a clear and charismatic charge as a nation to move forward to build tomorrow for our children. Simple investment incentives would go a long way!

Going to have to clear the house and neighborhood of the Corporate Looters and Banks. They aint going nowhere until the have asset-stripped the locals (US).

If you want them gone -- somebody is going to have to run them out.

So what's your recommendation? Shut down all the corporations and the banks? Enlighten me with your plan and how it will improve our economic climate.

A lot of this seems to tie back to the whole "confidence" thing: no one trusts the Government or the Fed or anyone on Wall Street.

A big step at restoring said confidence would be starting with rounding up the Bernankes, Paulsons, Geithners, and Blankfeins of the world and locking them up in Attica.

Next, go to Wall Street with a mandate: FIX it. Untangle this mess and extricate themselves from the rest of the economy without taking it down with them.

HOW to do that?

I have no idea. THEY created this mess. That's their conundrum to figure out. And if they don't, the remaining execs and Plutocrats go to Attica too. Even if mankind blows the earth to smithereens in a nuclear exchange, the sun will still rise the next day over the smoldering ruins. So a useful, meaningful economy CAN still take place without the Casino like shenangians of the traders and speculators. If we really wanted it.

Yes, I realize that what I am saying is tantamount to vigilante and scapecoat justice. But given the egregious acts and how it was handled and how nothing else has worked, I say give it a shot.

You want to fix the economy, you have a better solution?

They've been holding us for ransom long enough. If Obummer and Co were really serious and really did care, they'd finally serve up some justice to those who deserve it. And the rest of the folks will respond in kind, which would go a long way at healing our "sickness".

Which crime are you planning on charging them with?

Thats too funny. Ironic that the same people who are telling everyone else what is "good" and "right" to do are the biggest screwups.

Let's start with grand larceny, extortion, and fraud and go from there shall we?

So tell me. What exactly IS the Fed hiding where they are fighting tooth and nail to prevent having to open the books to the public about exactly where all that bailout money went?

All you CD Polyannas need to give it up. The *** is up. The "check mate" moment is imminent. You lost. You just don't know it yet. Just like how our economy is insolvent. It just hasn't caught up to us yet. The economy is swirling down the toilet like last nights enchilada dinner. The "recovery" is not only over, but never really there to begin with. Too bad no one in any position of authority has the stones to admit it.

Call me a party pooper, gloom-and-doom Bear if it makes you feel better. The facts are the damn facts. If it's raining outside, it's raining. Doesn't matter how bad you want to get that suntan. And most of all: when that ruse doesn't work, don't try and tell me it's raining when you're pissin' on my leg.

It doesn't make anyone feel better, to be honest you come off as more of a spectacle than anything I find it interesting.
