No one would have thought it possible for Rome and her mighty army to fall however she did. She was not conquered but fell from within. Some days it seems we to shall fall from within. Maybe not in my life time but sometime. I was quite young when Nikita Khrushchev stood here in FL and said we will bury your grand children. Well he may just have missed it by a few decades. In the beginning it was "The legitimate object of government is to do for the people what the people cannot do for themselves". That is not the course this nation is on now. I'd highly recommend doing a personal study of the collapse of Rome and do a comparison of that and the USA without a predetermined want to find theme. Be totally honest with yourself. Take a hard look at where we are going. Military might can not overcome an internal collapse. You can't continue to print money to keep people happy and fat.
