Wouldn't that end the debate regarding having teachers carry guns to protect themselves and their students if another attacker were to copy cat what happened in CT?

The idea of school staff carrying is not just to stop an attacker (which is not something BP vests can do, although you seem to think they can), but to make an attacker wary of attacking a school as he will not know if his victims will be able to fight back. Monsters like easy targets, most of your mass shootings happen in gun free zones.

Pretty good idea but do the school have enough budget for the equipment? I suggest a more tight security and well trained personnel.

All teachers, students, custodians, and other school personnel should be trained in martial arts, to protect against the post-assault-weapons-ban attackers of the future. Students would be allowed to select their martial art of choice, whether it be karate, kung-fu, ju-jitzu, and so on.

Each school should in addition have at least one bomb-sniffing dog in the building at all times.

If we arm every teacher, train every student in martial arts, and require body armor as school uniforms....
Mass killers will just switch to bombs. That is exactly what happens in states with easier to obtain CCWs.

Would you force Quakers and Buddhists to use violence or would you ban them from teaching?

They would be trained in martial arts but not forced to use them.

Under my plan there would be at least one bomb-sniffing dog in every school at all times.

Bomb sniffing dogs are not cheap and requires a handler. Who is going to pay for all this?
