Im pcsing to fort bliss. I have 6 kids. what is the best area for on base housing. Im going to 1/1

They'll probably put you near Biggs Park not far from the Sergeant Major Academy. The houses there are new and very nice. Gives you somewhat quick access to all of 1/1 with the exception of far east Bliss.

Rio Bravo is a very nice area, puts you in the middle of Bliss with easy access to 1AD and main post. There's a trail there that you can use to run, ruck, bike, etc. I have a few NCOs that live just west of SGM and Haan, they all like the area very much. You also have easy access to 601 and 375.
Personally I'm not a fan of the Paso Del Norte area, I've had a few NCOs live out there. The interiors are very nice, quite spacious. The reason why I don't like it is because it's off post but "on" post if you know what I mean. That means anyone can access the roads. They are occasionally patrolled by the MPs but not enough. There is theft there, people will even jump in your backyard to steal.
Logan Heights looks like the projects to me.
La Noria is really nice. My old BN CDR lived not far from there, one of the team OICs lives near there. It's not far from the NCO academy, Freedom Crossing (PX), Commissary and a very large track. It's also where the BDE CDRs housing is. You have quick access off post via Buffalo Soldier gate or the main gate. I've been in the houses before and they're quite nice.
Don't know much about the Chamizal Vista houses but it's not far from La Noria and even closer to those amenities mentioned.
One thing I suggest: stay off I-10. It's a nightmare either with construction, traffic, **** poor drivers (there are a lot of them here, it's like driving in the middle east), or accidents (happens a lot and they will shut it down to 1 lane if not the entire interstate).
Have you considered living off post? Most live out in the far east. Traffic is heavy but you have everything out there.
