i agree, thats taking it too too far, sorta like those central/west texas cheerleader moms on those lifetime movies, this is no joke, those kids could have been seriously ill or worst [dead] if they would have eaten that rat poison, i hope they get whats coming to them!

No its worse, its premeditated murder, they planned it, then made the treats, and then were planning on giving them at the football game, but were cut off from doing so.

A dose of Ex-Lax in cupcakes is a gag....rat poison is attempted murder. Any way you slice it. If I had a child going to Andress, I would be furious. These kids need to draw prison time for this one. They're old enough to know and appreciate the ramifications of what they did.

Not to be an attorney - that's only in the daytime lol but its not premeditated murder - unless they really planned to kill. Deadly conduct sure. Of course it was an ATTEMPTED offense so it would be punished as one category lower than the actual offense. They could certainly still go to jail.
If there was a large quantity of rat poison the argument would be better for Attempted Murder.

At any rate its horrible behavior -when I lived in ELP there wasn't even a Chapin High School so what's with the big rivalry?

Its Premeditated because they had to think of what to add to the brownies, knowing full well rat poison would kill someone.. and then on top of that adding Clorox, and other chemicals.. they baked them days before hand and planned to give them at a later date. So its Premeditated. So please spare me I'm a lawyer BS.. if you are your not very good at it.

Laxative I could see but you should spend some jail time for intentionally trying to make anyone ill. If they used rat poison, these girls have murder on their mind and should be sent to prison.
