I never understood why Evolution and Creationism couldn't coincide instead of being opposed to each other.
I'm of the opinion that we did indeed evolve from the sea and then onto the land, as the biologists believe, but that this process was guided by the hand of God, as the Theologians believe.
I think they call this notion "Intelligent Design."
Just because Rick Perry and I happen to be more educated than the average poster here, doesnt make him wrong. Evolution IS a theory, and CAN NOT BE PROVEN. THAT IS A FACT and I challenge you to prove it wrong. I'l wait patiently while those who are "ignorant" (your word) embarass themself over not knowing this FACT.
Gravity is a theory. Relativity is a theory. Do you also think that any wing nut "theory" that provides an alternative explanation for why they work should be taught to children/young people?
Huntsman is pro-life and has actually signed anti-abortion legislation into law. That, plus the strange tenets of the Mormon faith, makes him a no-go for me.
I agree but at least he believes in evolution. I dont think any other R candidate does. I would not vote for him either.
You see? That is your view because you cannot believe in creation. If creation is true, which I believe it is, then evolution can't work for me. So, the Science class is teaching a lie.

There is no factual basis for asserting there is a "hand of God" guiding anything. That it why it is called a "belief." In this country, you are free to 'believe' anything you like, but you can't teach it as fact, simply because some believe it to be true.
Like I said, you can if it's an elective or a club.
THe line gets crossed when you force someone into it.
In Texas, it's not an elective.
