The latest poll out from CNN shows GOP enthusiasm for the 2012 election is dropping.

49% of Republicans now describe themselves as "enthusiastic", vs. 58% last Sept. Meanwhile, the Dem's enthusiasm level is holding steady at 44%.

I predicted a while ago that the GOP was in danger of squandering their big "enthusiasm" advantage, by nominating a phony that nobody likes, under the mistaken presumption that "Romney is the only one who can beat Obama".

It's early still, but it will be interesting to see if this number keeps going down.

Has the "Romney hangover" started already?

Thanks to Mitten's and Mitten's sheep for this trend/poll result.

We have an appetite in this nation for a big change...like we did in 1980.... but we are getting instead, milquetoast.

I predict this trend will not change until the GOP electoric gets their act together, quits listening to FOX New's talking-heads, and starts supporting a true conservative for the GOP nomination.

Just waiting for the late summer panic and ridiculous media ads....

How are they going to sell country club Romney...record unemployment and foreclosures, yet he hands a broke woman in SC 50 bucks...lmfao

Really the spin meisters are going to have a hard time, and the GOP had better figure out that putting the uber-wealthy on tv in support of Mitt is NOT going to "excite the base".

As a conservative, I really hope Mitt loses, and loses badly.

Default GOP enthusiasm down since Sept

Go figure...

The clear majority of repubs have voted for someone other than Romney, but theyre going to get Romney. Maybe their blind hatred of Obama can unite them.

Don't worry, after all the infighting and squabbles are over, they will get re-enthused at the prospect of getting obama out of the oval office.

At least Obama is predictable. Mitt will say/do ANYTHING to get elected. It's pathetic to even look upon a man with so little personal conviction. Romney, literally, is the least principled man I have ever seen.

sad commentary isnt it? With Congress approval rating dipping below 10%, that says alot.

The irony of this is that CNN themselves has a man-crush on Romney and already dubbed him as the GOP pick.
