Nothing huh?

Romney is incapable of the depth needed to represent the citizens of this great nation on the World stage. His policies are poorly thought out, he caters to any and everyone for a vote, the Republican base continues to reject him, and he cannot relate to middle class America.

The extremists have been allowed to take-over and re-brand the party. That's as much the fault of the old base as the new.
Will there ever be another election that doesn't hinge on gays and abortion?

Its all about the social issues. A lot of people would be open to voting for the GOP on economic issues but can't in good conscious vote Republican because of social issues.

I really think things are too in flux right now to know who will win. The Republican party seems too extreme to win anything but that's because the primary is still going on. If Romney is the nominee that might change, since Romney himself is not very extreme. He has other issues LOL, but that's not one of them. His strength is he he can possibly argue he'd be stronger on the economy and that could play very well in a general election. Of course he'll get slammed on a host of other things but as long as his campaign (or really his Super Pacs) sling mud right back he could still eek out a victory.

Of course, if the party Palins him (saddles him with a polarizing VP that scares the bejeebus out of the non-faithful) then Obama wins in a cakewalk.

One of the interesting things about Obama is despite the fact that ~25% of the country solidly hates his guts, the rest of the people genuinely like him even if they think he's hasn't done a good job. Not many people seem to genuinely like Romney. To me that's he wildcard in all this... people tend not to like and/or trust Romney for some reason.
