2012 Elections, Governor Projections - Election Projection

I don't know how reputable election projection is, but I used in 08 and 10 and it seems to be decent. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice they predict Dems will lose another 4 governors bringing the total to

Republican: 33
Democrat: 16
Independent: 1

. We seem to be polarized in national politics, but the state level GOP is cleaning the Democrat's clocks it seems.

It's extremely bad for the party as a whole, as developing local talent pays off in national elections.

It isn't good news for the Dems, no question, much of this was done in 2010. With that being said it is interesting to note Cuomo in NY and Hickenlooper in CO (both Dems) are generally the two that have the strongest approvals meanwhile Kasich in Ohio and Gov. Medicare Fraud (Scott) of FL tend to have the lowest.

Kasich would have a very hard time being re-elected today. Strickland almost beat him in a year of republican landslides.

Gov Scott(R) of Florida is so hated, that this will tilt some indie voters in Florida to vote against Romney, thinking that Romney might be as bad as Gov Scott(this could be true, since Scott ran as a businessman). This will probably tip Florida into a win for Obama...which will tip the overall 2012 Pres election to Obama. Due to a rotten governor that could tip the scales slightly in favor of Obama.
