Polls showing Obama in the mid 40's with approval in the mid 40's are not good for Obama. Some of these polls are statistical ties BTW.

This recent poll is not listed...it shows a statistical tie.

You have been putting your hopes on the approval polls for some time rather than the vote. You might have something if Romney were a more attractive candidate. But people don't like him, don't trust him, and with each passing day it gets worse for him (or at least no better) in that regard. The vote polls show that people will stick with Obama even if they think he could be doing a better job simply because they don't believe Romney is any better. The Anybody but Obama strategy is not working. It appears you really do need a better candidate than you have.

I think its WAY to early to get excited. By October we will have a better idea of how this election is going to go, actually by late September for absentee voting, by that time most people will know who they will vote for, Plus Romney hasn't even announced his VP pick. He will announce it as soon as he gets back on U. S. soil because he will be heading to Tampa soon for the convention. So he is hoping to get a surge after his announcement of his VP pick.

Only idiots pay any attention to polling this far out from the election.

This poll was taken before Romney put his foot in his mouth in London. The next poll Romney will be even worse.

His London faux paus is going to lose him a lot of votes, or gain Obama votes for some of the fence sitters.

All the commercials that money can buy can't fix that screw up for Romney.

Let's just hope Ann's horse wins the a gold medal, or any medal. He'd be putting his foot in his mouth trying to play dumb about it. "I really didn't watch it so I wasn't sure if she won it or not. I am busy running for President and can't be bothered with my wife having an Olympic entry. Let's talk about the economy. Pleeeeeease?"

I don't understand the point of caring about polls at this point either.

One thing I found interesting... Our family took a road trip across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois last week. We saw exactly two Obama bumper stickers, in Ohio. I feel like this time last election year people had signs and bumper stickers all over the place. Of course, maybe people are waiting for Romney to have a running mate, maybe? Then we got to our destination and I got to watch tv and political ads for the first time in months. I was NOT impressed. They were so... boring, and it was just the same thing over and over. Does anyone really get convinced by these things?

i have yet to meet one person who is supporting romney. all i hear is im voting for anybody but obama from those who arnt pro obama.

you cant win if nobody is voting for you which is the case with romney. he is only getting votes from people who are voting against obama.

his base isnt excited about him, i think those on the right will even admit that.
