It was a devastating attack on the GOP.
Review will take place November 6. But aside from the delegates in the hall for Clinton's speech, or anyone not watching the Cowboys/Giants or Berdych/Federer... who's gonna care? The ObamaPress? California?

Perhaps you should join a conversation about "something".

Because neither party knows how to address the real hardcore problems of our country, and may not even want to. Lacking that ability or desire, as a decoy they keep going back to the old warhorses...God, Family, Patriotism, all soft subjects. It's amusing how the "wives" are trying to outdo each other with what wonderful "family men" their husbands are, and what wonderful kids they have. Even with gay rights (pro and mostly con) they are pandering to "family values" and nostalgia for a world long gone. I wonder how many people are really buying this stuff.

How ironic then that your post is neither but merely a bash of others.

I find those posting who you insult as "sock puppets" are indeed discussing the the issue intelligently -- you just don't like what they are writing.

I guess you failed to see the Clinton speech in which he invoked the blessings of God on the crowd in attendance and the nation just hours after Villerogosa had had to misread a voice vote to reinsert the word, God, in the 2012 platform of the Party. Blow out the word on Monday, get a load of heat on Tuesday, try to reinsert it on Wednesday, have to cheat on a voice vote and then invoke the blessings of God. It has been a big week at Charlotte, so far.

Well, this doesn't account for control of Congress, which is a totally different story. But regardless it's irrelevant as to the implications on why we should re-elect THIS Democratic president, who has seen a net-job loss.

If Obama pursued more Clinton-esque policies of free trade, spending cuts, cuts to capital gains taxes, etc maybe he could count himself among those Democratic presidents. Sure Clinton raised taxes on top earners once, but it was in a booming economy in an effort to lower the deficit and force interest rates down, thereby expanding the economy. Unfortunately, interest rates now are already at an all-time low and raising taxes in a bad economy would be counter-intuitive as far as the deficit is concerned. Which is why Clinton advocated for keeping the Bush tax cuts just a few months ago. I find it bizarre that Clinton was essentially arguing that we re-elect Obama in order to bring back the prosperity of a bygone era, a prosperity that was reached through policies that we'd be more likely to see in a Romney administration than an Obama one.

The bottom line here is that this is not an election between All Republicans of the last 52 years versus All Democrats of the last 52 years. It's Barack Obama versus Mitt Romney. And While the Dems may even try to frame it as Clinton versus Bush, the fact is Barack Obama is nothing like Bill Clinton. And while George Bush was exploding our deficit in Washington, Mitt Romney was balancing the budget without raising taxes back in Massachusetts.

In sum, what you are saying may be true, I would definitely like to look into it more. I would also be interested in who had control of Congress during these times (and admittedly that was largely Democrats through 94). It could definitely be interesting to look at. But it has no implications as far as this election is concerned.

Bill Clinton: Well, since 1961, for 52 years now, the Republicans have held the White House 28 years, the Democrats 24. In those 52 years, our private economy has produced 66 million private sector jobs.
