Well it's him (what he said he meant) versus what you think he meant. So whose spinning what? Considering that he said "47% of the people", which I find a bit vague myself, it's impossible to know either way.
But considering that I think that pretty much every republican amd democrat knows that the elderly and those on unemployment have paid their dues into the system, it's also kind of hard to swallow your argument as well.
That's why at the end of the day, like most things in life, this is all much ado about nothing...
You know, if he'd said something like, "Now, there are 47 percent who pay no income taxes, our message of tax cuts isn't going to resonate with them--they'll vote for this president no matter what" he wouldn't have gotten this level of criticism, right?
Yes, if he said that very thing, then I'd admit he would have a very big problem on his hands, but he didn't.
Just like Obama didn't say "Government is soley responsible for every innovation and business venture in the history of mankind. Government owns everything."
It's unfortunate that we as an electorate get so hung up on these "gaffes" when there are bigger and more substantive issues that need to be addressed.
No, I'm intelligent. 50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce, according to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri. Any woman desiring to breed would be absolutely idiotic to not take that information into consideration and make sure she can support on her own any children she may decide bear.
Depending on someone else who may or may not have the resources to foot the bills for you and the children you bear? NOT smart. Not given those divorce statistics.
And how did you make the leap that I expected anybody but myself to "foot the bill" for my own kids?
I tried to make the point that sometimes things happen - husbands die, husbands abandon the family, whatever, leaving mothers on their own to support their children.
And then you made the ASSumption that I was dependent on you and others like you to support my kids.
Newsflash! I worked two, and sometimes three, jobs to support my family.
The fact is, that other than a year on food stamps (when they actually were still "stamps") right after the ex abandoned the family, and a few months getting EBT benefits while I was briefly unemployed (which I promptly canceled as soon as I got a job), I have received no "hand outs" (unless you want to count the SSI disability I get now because of being injured on the job, and after eight surgeries, am now permanently disabled).
So, don't worry.......none of your precious pennies went to help raise my kids.

I know. I, personally, need more information about the pool orgies.
Wow, I have seen Republicans distance themselves from Bush, which makes sense, but distancing themselves from Romney before he even makes it to the White House, that just looks bad for Romney.
Keep it up Romney, we Obama supporters are very happy when you open your mouth.
