Let her write another book to pay for it. That way the liberals get their monument and village idiots get their attention.
Just another pet project... just another earmark... just more congressfailures doing what they do best. Soak the taxpayers to get their names over a door.
Absolutely ridiculous! Leave it to Hillary to ask for a million bucks for something as useless as a museum for Woodstock. Granted, it may have been a "good time" back then but let the supporters of that event fund any museum associated with it. And the comment about it being a good thing to bring jobs and money to the NY economy? Since when is NY's economy bad? Some people will come up with anything to agree with Hillary.
Anybody remember the bridge to nowhere that would serve about 50 people the senator from Alaska (the one under investigation now), proposed. McConnell doesn't fool around with a paltry million.

Clips:
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is pushing $25 million in earmarked federal funds for a British defense contractor that is under criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department and suspected by American diplomats of a "longstanding, widespread pattern of bribery allegations."
McConnell tucked money for three weapons projects for BAE Systems into the defense appropriations bill, which the Senate approved Oct. 3. The Defense Department failed to include the money in its own budget request, which required McConnell to intercede, said BAE spokeswoman Susan Lenover.
BAE is based in Great Britain but has worldwide operations, including a Louisville facility that makes naval guns and employs 322. McConnell has taken at least $53,000 in campaign donations from BAE's political action committees and employees since his 2002 re-election. United Defense Industries, which BAE purchased two years ago, pledged $500,000 to a political-science foundation the senator created, the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville.
In June, BAE confirmed that the Justice Department is investigating possible corruption in its Saudi Arabian deals. According to British media reports, BAE set up a slush fund with hundreds of millions of dollars in a Washington, D.C., bank to bribe Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan in order to win weapons contracts. Bandar, who heads the Saudi National Security Council, has denied the allegation.

Reason: word addition
Wrong... it's spitting on the Constitution. She's not the only one, but it's not a power granted to the Congress under the Constitution. I don't care if it was 1 million dollars to build more beds for sick children, it's not the job of the federal government.
I can't single her out, 100 wrongs don't make a right.
It isn't prohibited either. The Constitution doesn't say alot about alot of things. It was written intentionally as to be open to interpretation. The Necessary and Proper was no oversight, and it has been used to expand federal power greatly over the last two centuries. Earmarks may not be popular. Oftentimes, though, those who detest them are the same ones who benefit from them. Really, it becomes a matter of how it was framed. The Bridge to Nowhere isn't a gluttonous pet-project. It is meant to promote interstate commerce. It may not be liked, it is not unconstutional.

In upstate New York, where the museum is to be located, the economy is struggling more. it is a small, rural town that needs soemthing to be competitive.
The point isn't that it is a museum to Woodstock, it could be used to build the largest ball of rubber bands. The point is that it can become an impetus for growth.

Pathetic b*
It has nothing to do with the "liberal monument". Federal projects electrified the farms, gave water to the Southwest and built most of our infrastructure. Plenty of conservative areas have benefitted from governemnt-funded projects. Concservative representatives have done the exact same thing. That post is particularly naive.

I have reported you for its unnecessary name calling. I found it rather callous and corse.
Federal projects electrified the farms.. good productivity
...gave water to the Southwest... good productivity
...built infrastructure... good investment
To build 'a Woodstock concert museum in Bethel, New York'... where's the useful producitivity? Will it include the works of Usef Islam?
