The question at this point is who comprises the 9%? We know that this 9% won't hold on election day. So IMO, the winner of this election comes down to the composition of the 9% and who leaves the 9.
Also, a Roanoke College poll in the same article has McAuliffe up 15% over Cuccinelli; however, they have McAuliffe with 46% of the vote, similar to the Quinnipiac, but have more undecideds and thus, less share for Cuccinellli.
McAuliffe continues to hold a double-digit lead with women...who vote more than men do.
Maybe if Democrats were more sensitive to some of the real and documented disadvantages some men face in life, they would win the male vote. A few things Democrats could do:
1. Some movement toward fairness in divorce court and custody hearings.
2. Equalize the gender gap in universities.
3. The trades: start funding training in the trades (generally male dominated professions that were hammered during the recession.
4. Address young males' falling performance at the primary and secondary school levels.
5. Men's health programs. Since we're always focused on women's health, maybe some programs focusing on the gender with the life expectancy nearly 4 years less than the other might be prudent.
6. Address male poverty. Democrats tend to lump all males into some sort of advantaged class that doesn't need any sort of help. This class simply doesn't exist. Instead of berating all men, maybe attack "rich, white, males."
7. Mental health in men. An addendum to #5 above, could do a lot to reduce violence.
Democrats could make inroads to the male vote if they opened their eyes a bit and really fought for equality and justice regardless of the gender, race, etc of the recipient of the injustice. Currently, the rhetoric coming out of the Democrat party is anti-male.

minorities and white females have proven through 2 election cycles that is all you need. the minority vote will continue to grow, while the white male vote will continue to decrease.
regarding this race, mcauliffe has led in every poll since july 7th, and his average in the latest polls is 7 points.

My comments said nothing about the white male vote. My comments addressed the entire male vote which Democrats are losing. And by the way, you definitely need males to win elections. But thank you for being honest about your misandry.

Why are Republicans doing none of this if you believe it would work, i mean, some of these are total BS ( your #3 is the reason #2 exist, what you are proposing would widen that gap. ), but if you believe this is what we should be doing then why are Republicans ?
If you honestly think Dems are anti male, thats fine, but i dont see Republicans doing any of the things you want.
