Rational? Ayn Rand was rational? Her ideal man was one who kidnapped and butchered a little girl.

You do realize that most people in power - in both parties - are effectively also following the key tenant of Objectivism, right? That one's own personal happiness is all that really matters... Why else would they seem so smug as they run the nation off the cliff for their own personal gain?

Ayn Rand's philosophy is nothing but egotistical drek and mumbo-jumbo written up to make being a selfish twit seem "rational" and "the right thing to do." Both parties do this, even if they don't realize it, but only right-wing extremists actually support Rand's lunatic ideas.

As for claiming that I haven't "advocated throwing Reid out," if you actually READ my posts, you'd know that I have nothing but disgust for our leaders in both parties. However, I do hold even deeper contempt for the current crop of right-wing lunatics who seek to make the situation worse than it is and who feel that they can ignore facts and history if that suits their purposes.

Nothing about discussing her work is offensive. I read her books in college.

None of the characters in Atlas Shrugged were seeking "monetary success" as a primary motivator, or goal.

They weren't interested in "all terrain vehicles" or astro-turf lawns.
