He is the solution, IMO. And if he runs, he will have my vote. What a refreshing change from the depressing Clinton-Bush prospective face-off

Well, there is reason he bolted from the Senate prematurely. He has one helluva temper and any extended campaign is going to set that off.

Smart guy, but not suited for politics.

Oh, please, John McCain has not only a temper, but bizarre behavior, etc and look how long he's been in office. And he's far less suited for politics than Webb.

Besides, a temper is not a bad thing when it is called for. It can be very effective when used under the correct circumstances.

HELL yEAH! Send me a bumpersticker...I am REALLY hoping he runs! He has a few issues that I am not lined up with, but imho he is head and shoulders above anyone else even remotely on the radar screen..great news imo.

I think the fact that he's a "tell it like it is" guy can hurt him bad in the media though.

Frig the media. I'm so tired of these agents provocateurs I could puke. They never miss an opportunity to stir things up. He should run, and ignore them. Or give 'em the gelding they so desperately deserve.

Well, were are talking about Webb, not McCain. McCain is a war hero and for years was known for a cool and calm demeanor and a very concillatory approach in Washington. Never seen much of this fabled temper.

But hey, if Webb uses it against Hillary in a debate, it should be highly amusing.

He's scots/irish..we ALL have a temper if we feel as if we are getting jerked around..I'd rather have a POTUS with a temper than one with an oil company agenda or like the one we have now that couldn't pour p iss out of a boot with the instructions on the heel.

Webb is a closet Republican. He only switched parties to run for Senate.

Yes, indeed, we are talking about Webb, my point was that if McCain could stumble around in the Senate incoherently for years, then Webb's "temper" shouldn't be a problem.

And I've never seen much of McCain's "cool and calm demeanor" and as for his "conciliatory approach", it usually follows a tantrum, from what I've read.

McCain needs pasture.

The people need a Webb presidency.
