You are putting words in my mouth. I never said that. But to assume that we are some peaceful nation that hasn't done anything to that region in the past.. well thats a little misguided.
Always remember that at one time.. we worked with Iraq..
Us.. our nation.. the U.S. government helped to overthrow a government...
well that blew up in our face in 1979..
I didn't put words in your mouth, you said we drew this situation to us.
As far as the rest of your post, here's what I said in my first post in this thread:

After the beginning of the war, I was at a military briefing as a contractor. The commander described in detail how we were in engaged in a Holy War. This has been going on since the 1970s. Where there is no willingness to step aside and determine the bad guys by their motives rather than their affiliation, you end up with bad guys by association.

I never stated I thought we were 100% responsible. I simply stated that to think that our government is completely innocent is misguided. In world diplomacy you have to make shady allies which I stated earlier. Those relationships have a way of turning ugly (which has happened).

I hope the commander meant 1970 b.c. and not 1970 a.d.
I like both Huckabee and Thompson. Neither quote bothers me a bit.
