With the liberals running these days and if conservatism comes to an end like you want, then we might as well get ready to eat with chop sticks or our hands.

Completely disagree, as a Republican who's not religious I find more and more people who are gay, black, non religious leaning right.

Politics is becoming
left, who think its the governments responsibility, to cure individuals problems, to hand out to those that need help, and blame those that get ahead for those who were left behind.

right, who think its an individuals responsibility first, to make sure that they have what they need to support themself, their family, and then help out others.

The whole time, individuals who dont understand on both sides of the aisle, that its the handouts to all, causing the problems we all are facing because of increased debt and entitlements that grow yearly and will never go away.

I think you're right, and I think that's tragic.

I don't like left's thinking that the state is the cure for all our woes, but the right's abject worship of the cult of the individual is scary. What happened to community and family?

Id say a good slice of the family component is in Iraq, thanks to the right....

The GOP's last vestiges of small-government conservatism died when the neocons hijacked the party. Why do you think nobody in the party wants Ron Paul around? He reminds them too much of what they used to stand for.

If you look at the Republicans who are winning, it is easy to see the liberal media is helping the liberal neo-cons successfully infiltrate the Republican voter base and dupe Rep voters into supporting them. Kind of like the Dem elites have managed to keep the most hawkish of the Dem candidates (Hillary) running at the top of the list, despite the fact that ending the war in Iraq is one of the top issues for Dems.

Wake up people, the media has successfully manipulated yet another election season already and its not even warmed up yet.

If there were still people who stood by the traditional values of their party, we would be seeing either Ron Paul or Fred Thompson running against either John Edwards or Joe Biden.

Guliani was here in town yesterday at the war memorial, Jacksonville Florida, boy is he a wad of this and that...I think hes v. confused on what side hes on too... man is he willing to beef up the military tho, wants to hand millions to upgrade all the equipment and the forces, bring an aircraft carrier named George Bush here....they retired the JFK from Mayport....hey ya know, the skys the limit to these dudes when it comes to the little bit of cash we got left in our middle and lower class bankrolls, then he stands there trying to comfort a black lady who spoke who had lost her son in Iraq...he got a few hits for his abortion stand too... nobody can figure that out, a few shouts from the crowd about it.... hey, these guys/gals are all fakes, and they just want a free ride to the top, the buck stops nowhere...and Im surprised Americans are STILL buying in to it all, I felt like hurling a huge pie at him... lets blow up Iraq and Iran and all those other hot spots over there for another hundred years... there was NO MENTION WHAT SO EVER about ending that war from his mouth!!!!!!!!!.... but they all bought it, its a retiree community here of naval vets and they lapped it up like dehydrated dogs, Hillary Clinton promises she will end this war, but I dont know how shes going to do it, but out of her mouth she promises that... so maybe that IS why shes getting ahead of all these other pervs, we will see, we will see...and the best lady or man will win, but unfortunately, they AINT got NONE OF US on their minds, people, NONE of us... brace yourselves, if youre in it for the long haul, its going to get VERY bumpy for you and yours before its all over... the land of the free, is GOING to cost us all for YEARS to come!!!

You're seeing things that I'm not.

McCain's campaign reminds me a lot of Dole's in 1996. An aging war hero who doesn't really have much to offer. Romney says anything his audience wants to hear. Telling autoworkers in Michigan that they're going to get their jobs back worked well enough for him to finally win a primary last night. Huckabee is the one to watch, I think. He'll do very well in the south and he's done better than expected, so far. Guliani is now a has-been.

But all of them (except Ron Paul) support the Bush policy for Iraq. All of them save Huckabee seem to support continuing the economic/tax policies that favor the top 1% at the expense of the other 99%.

To be honest, with the economy slipping into recession, the Republicans are staring down the barrel of an historic trouncing in Novemebr. Not just in the presidential race, but pretty much across the board.
