What specific regulations are you worried about? Maybe you've heard something I haven't.
As far as minimum wage is concerned, if collective bargaining wasn't gutted like it is today, I believe we wouldn't need any minimum wage laws. But if you bar workers from negotiating better deals on their own behalf, they will look to government to help make up the difference.
Fact of the matter is, no corporation has ever lobbied government to ban minimum wage laws, lower corporate taxes, weaken unions, reduce environmental regulations, campaign against (real) healthcare reform, because they're worried about their employees.
The large corporation CEO, middle market business owner, or guy who drives his Uber car cares about his/her bottom line. It is beyond arrogant for do gooders to consider workers children who need big Daddy government, politicians, or unions to protect them. Business is not the enemy.

Bullseye! But don't expect a Leftist to understand that.

I'm not interested in advocating on behalf of large corporate CEO's, who in their right mind would do that?
I'm not even sure what defines a "middle market business owner".
Uber car drivers have already begun to unionize in Seattle, which by the way, independent contractors are easily some of the most exploited workers in the united states besides maybe temp employees. Collective bargaining is a tool far too underutilized.
By the way you still didn't cite any specific regulations.

I have seen countries who do that, and it truly sucks. The minimum wage doesn't vanish, it just becomes sector specific. That's really bad for university graduates, who are not able to get graduate jobs.
You may say, that is a problem already. Well, it will be much worse if employers are forced to pay high salaries to university graduates. Then they rather hire experienced workers.

For example, are you aware what Bernie has stated about Uber? Five or six months ago, Bernie Sanders said he had "serious problems" with Uber as an “unregulated” company.
If Bernie's proposal were sane, the whole country would be voting for him.
The reality is they will require massive tax hikes across all segments of American society, including the roughly 50% who pay no income taxes currently.
Are we really to believe that Bernie has suddenly come up with cradle to grave financing for the American dream, minus only funeral expenses at no cost to all of us? Where the heck has he been for 70+ years?

Why does he have to pay for things? When was the last time a president actually paid for things? Johnson? How many that you voted for actually paid for things?

Any prospective employee is able to negotiate pay with their prospective employer. A union isn't necessary to do that.
