Hope the Cruz delegates are prepared to get death threats from Trump supporters. The fact that the Cruz delegates and their families are getting threats should send the convention right into being contested. Like in a trial when the jury is threatened, there is a mistrial.

Yes it is an opinion. At least I do not come out and lie through my teeth and insist otherwise, like certain other posters around here routinely do.

But it is not unsupported by fact, as you know that Trump has lost over 60% of the Republican primary vote and his approval ratings among Republicans are frequently quite weak.

Yes it does. Cruz's poll numbers are dropping like a rock tossed in water. The delegate scandal is hurting him badly. This isn't "The Art of Making a Deal" as you put it. It's called "Crashing & Burning".

Cruz has now dropped to 3rd place in some parts of California, while Donald Trump has risen to 50% in others.

Seriously, give it up, Cruz is not going to get the nomination. Just accept it, and move on.

Cruz is on the verge of of permanently ruining his career (if he hasn't already) with this sleazy campaign. He needs to bow out now, and hope he can salvage his career.

In any case, being "on the cusp," whatever that means exactly, is not at all the same as actually having the required number of delegates to win the nomination. Which Trump does not, nor does he appear in any way assured of getting them.
Give it up. Cruz is toast. If you're too much in denial to face reality, there's no need to push your fantasies on the rest of us.

Even if Cruz manages to win the convention, do you really expect him to win the presidential election? Lets be realistic here. The establishment has made this race closer than what it would be had Cruz not had the backing of the establishment. In a general election, the republic establishment will not have that advantage. Cruz will get crush in the general election. Not to mention, Cruz is further cementing his reputation as sleazy, dirty, lying snake. The last wins of Cruz were given to him. In a general election he has to win. That is something Cruz has shown he can't do otherwise he would be beating Trump.

Will you guys be sure to let us know if and when Donald Trump actually gains the support of the 1,237 delegates that are REQUIRED to win the Republican nomination?

And please, don't hold your breath while you are waiting. I don't want you to hurt yourselves like that.

Cruz has lost ~80% of the primary vote. By your logic, he definitely can't win.

Furthermore the election can't be won by just Republicans voting. If the candidate can't attract independents and swing voters, they lose by a landslide. Cruz has demonstrated time and time again that he has no support among this segment of the electorate.

In essence, you are making argument for Hillary Clinton. Doesn't seem like a very "Republican" thing to do.
