I was pleased to see that Will Ferrell stopped this project. Alzheimer's is a devastating illness for the sufferer and his/her family. There is nothing funny about the debilitating and fatal illness nor the pain, stress and suffering exacting on the care givers.
Anyone else find it suspicious they are making a movie to make Reagan look like an idiot when Trump is often compared to him? How could the establishment be so stupid to not know that every attack they make is extremely obvious and lets the american people know the extent of which they are capable of? It's incredible to watch the empire crumbling.
Anyone who compares Reagan to Trump is out of their skull -the only comparison is that they both switched party affiliation, but Trump did his a 70 yrs of age - only so he could run for POTUS. Reagan did it much earlier in life and did it for actual ideology issues.

So the movie was about making fun of the disease and not his ridiculous presidency and the terrible damage Reaganomics did to the fabric of America?

They held a meeting, discussed the film and honestly thought everyone would think it was funny.
I don't mind that they think they are as smart as me; what irritates me is that they think I am as dumb as they are.
I particularly enjoyed the outrage Patti Davis had for the project. IIRC she didn't particularly get along with her Dad and while he was wandering aimlessly around the White House she was smoking weed, posing for Playboy and trying to cash in on a movie career playing off the old man's fame.

Patti Davis is a totally botoxed hypocrite. She dissed her parents all the time, and her only accomplishment has been to make money off of them.
