I think Trump is doing a great job exposing the "system ". If you are rich and powerful you can get away with any gross theft in States where the Attorney General is on the take.
So the bribe money to an Attorney General is like a small tax on your thefts.
But tax of course is not a good analogy since people like Trump don't pay taxes.
Ah, so Trump's motives were out of altruism -- he only wanted to 'expose' the system? No. Trump has long exploited the system -- whether it is gaining preferential tax treatment or zoning waivers. He does it out of personal greed, not to expose anything.
Trump is ultimately corrupt -- not really worrying about the nuances of law or morality as long as he earns money. It is the reason he admires Putin. Today’s Russia is just an authoritarian state, with a cult of personality around its strongman, that showers benefits on an immensely wealthy oligarchy while brutally suppressing opposition and criticism.
Theme: Why does the appearance of possible impropriety bother voters so much more than apparent actually criminal crimes?
Answer: "The reason the Clinton Foundation has earned more scrutiny is that the Clinton Foundation, like Hillary Clinton herself, ostensibly stands for something greater. The best version of Donald Trump is someone who nevertheless does everything to advance the greater glory of Donald Trump."
It isn't news to find out more why Trump's actual indiscretions don't rate as news.
So, you are saying that because trump's behavioral goal is clearly to advance himself only, with no altruistic component... that trump's "actual indiscretions don't rate as news", right? Not even when trump is running for president, and his character is at issue?
And, since when, has illegal behavior been characterized as "indiscretions"? After all, trump is involved in several lawsuits, investigations, and the like, in several different arenas and states, for his "actual indiscretions".

And that, of course, is what Trump admires.
You nailed it.
The contingency that supports Trump somehow believe that after 70 years of playing Americans for suckers, suddenly, now he has their best interests at heart.
Thank you for showing your exceptional debating skills -- and use of ad hominem attacks that make no meaningful point. Just like Trump, who can't debate using reason and confuse insults with debate.

Trump foundation is tiny compared to Clinton's or poor people like Oprah. The $25,000 check was sixth largest check written by the Foundation and Trump and Children are listed as running the foundation. Almost all money is other peoples money and Trump claims he gives millions.
Well it is not via his foundation.

In addition to the "gift" to Florida's Attorney General, "It appears to have bought items for Trump — including a $12,000 football helmet and a $20,000 portrait of Trump — despite IRS rules against "self-dealing" by charity leaders."

While you excuse the Clintons for gaming the system by using the Clinton Foundation.
That article is in Fortune magazine -- not a liberal publication by any means. The Trump Bribery scandal has legs and like Fortune says, it's not going to go away.
