Martinez is the chair of the Republican Governors' Association. For her to not show up when the presumptive nominee is in her state is pretty telling. She doesn't care for him, so there's no reason for him to care for her.
Trump just can't keep his big, stupid mouth shut. She's a woman and she's Hispanic. Two demographics he's doing very poorly with, Im sure this will help Not to mention she's popular with Republicans and this makes Trump look even more foolish than he is. As I said, 6 more months of him saying stupid things like this and he will be down 20 points in the polls heading into Nov as he loses in a landslide.
She's not popular with Republicans. At least those that don't like Amnesty which she IS for.
When you use SJW language like Martinez did when she said Trump was trying to "bully" her, you lose all credibility. She might as well become a Democrat. Theres no place for that **** on the Trump Train.
I thought the whole point of political campaigning was to win friends and get more votes.
So Trump doesn't want New Mexico voters? Or to persuade the highest elected official in the state to sway some votes to his side?
I'm not commenting on Trump. I'm commenting on Martinez. She's not a good governor and just because she is a woman and Hispanic doesn't make her the greatest thing since sliced bread. I said the same thing in 2015 when it was suggested that SHE run for President. New Mexico is a poorly run state.
That isn't the issue. The point is that you want to get votes from every state possible. If (and that's a big IF) you want to get some votes in NM, doesn't it make sense to play nice to the state governor and win her over?
Seems like Trump isn't humble enough to do that. And it probably means whatever chance that NM has to swing red, has become less now.

I can't even begin to grasp the logic behind this, assuming there was any. But really, I think it's just Donald's thin skin because he can't handle the fact that an elected GOP governor, particularly an Hispanic woman, hasn't endorsed him, so in his mind, that's an "attack" and like any 4th grade bully, he thinks he gets the right to attack back.
He criticized her, because she didn't stand up to Obama dumping Syrian refugees in New Mexico.
It's a little premature to cross Martinez off the short-list.

LOL. Most Republicans are astonished that he has no more political savvy than this. He needs HER so much more than she needs him.
New Mexico voters have probably already written him off. It's like he just leaves a path of scorched earth wherever he goes - amongst people that he wants to be on HIS side. Like Paul Ryan!
