I would suggest taking a step back and looking at this situation objectively.

The truth is that Mrs Trump took an entire paragraph from First Lady Obama's 2008 speech. That is the truth. And Trump supporters are trying to divert attention with misdirection, word salad, and BS.

"Work hard for what you want in life."

"Think outside the box."

"Treat people with respect."

"It was a paradigm shift."

"My parents taught me that your word is your bond and you do what you say."

"Actions speak louder than words."

"You can't judge a book by it's cover."

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

"Better safe than sorry."

"Hit the ground running."

"It was a win win situation."

What do all those phrases have in common?

Answer: They are common cliches.

Yes, richrf, plagiarizing Michelle Obama was all a plot to get Democrats to attack Melania in order to make Democrats look bad.

How hilariously idiotic. Keep 'em coming, rich! I haven't laughed this hard in too long a time.
Love how he is he only knowledgeable person here. The rest of us are just idiots.

Her speech writer (or speech writers) were either incompetent — or intentionally sabotaged her.

It’s no secret that journalists, like a pack of hungry wolves, look for lifted passages in convention speeches. In fact, Michelle Obama herself was criticized after her 2008 speech for allegedly plagiarizing a passage from Chapter 2 Saul Alinsky’s book, “Rules for Radicals.” (And, for the record, President Barack Obama has been accused of plagiarism, too.)

Yes, it should have been caught, but with all that was going on it's easy to see how it wasn't. If she was fed bits and pieces from a writer (or writers) to work into her speech, and she was the one spending the most time on it, she would not have known nor suspected.

Regardless, I thought the speech and her delivery were heartfelt.

Hey, how do we know that Ms. Obama did not steal Ms. Trump's speech?

Simple, really. In 2008 Ms. Obama had access to a time machine, went forward to last night, liked what she heard from Ms. Trump, went back to 2008, and delivered her speech, saying to a shocked nominee Obama "Stuff will hit the fan in 2016".

Anyway, Hillary Rodham Clinton better review her speech for next week. For instance, the term "America" has already been used by the Republicans, so she will be unable to use that noun. I have not heard anyone say 'zebra' yet, so she needs to use it.

I know. There speech writers thought they could get away with lifting from Michelle Obama's speech.

And you, because you are a brilliant, well educated, Democrat caught them red handed!

You think you are so smart right?
