The speeach had some good quotes from other famous people and the sentence about his grandmother was making me sick. My grandmother never mentioned something like this and do I have to be proud of her for not doing so, no I think she raised her family with normal values. My grandmother had a very hard life being in hiding away from her kids for 4 years during WWll and finding out that most of your family is killed afterwards. She didn't raise her sons with hate or rasicm!!!
Obama is a bad person hanging around with terrorists and racists and that as a sitting Goevernor not doing anything a let his and other kids listening to hate. All of you who think this is right, think twice. Soon the racism will be bigger and thanks to this hope and change hot air guy. Tell me one accomplishment he did will being a Governor.....still no answer. Don't worry nobody else had....

Grow up kids and face the truth your whinning proves the point that it's hard to get over what people say about you...and how you've been treated, misunderstood, and ummmm lynched. Did I mention that it lasted for over 300 hundred years. One can be resentful without being a racist. The 50's and 60's has long pass but we all know covert/overt racism is alive and well. If that is the real Obama then it refreshing to at last get the real out of a politician.

Isn't it funny just because of this issue you see Obama's real face and what a face....
I'm not surprised with his kind of friends that people start looking at his passport. Why is that so bad? If you have nothing to hide so be it. I don't care if they check me out or listen in on my phone calls. I feel sorry for the person doing so because there is nothing than some boring conversations for some one else. I guess Obama is mad because there must be something he don't want us to know.

Are you actually defending people for illegally accessing government files just because you don't like the guy? Really? Is that what you are defending?

Maybe you don't have anything to hide in the bedroom or the bathroom either eh? Maybe you should just have some video taken of you doing "whatever you do" in those rooms posted up on Youtube for everyone to see to find out for sure if you really have "nothing to hide".

The arguments that "if he/she has nothing to hide then he/she shouldn't mind" are completely inane. It isn't a matter of whether or not someone has "something to hide" - it's the fact that everyone (even candidates for office) should have a certain degree of privacy - that's why we have LAWS protecting such privacy.

If you have no privacy, you are essentially living in a police state.

So you are saying your grandmother had no ill will towards the German's (or whoever it was who did this to her family)?

Eh, maybe you should get your facts right before posting. Obama wasn't a Governor. He was an Illinois state legislator for 7 years and is now a US Senator.

Read his accomplishments for yourself: Barack Obama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The laws that protect privacy vary based on if one is a PUBLIC or PRIVATE figure, if you are running for president then you are by default a PUBLIC figure. Which means you have less privacy than a private citizen.

True enough, but snooping at someone's passport file is NOT appropriate - that was made clear when the same thing happened during Bill Clinton's campaign against the first President Bush.

This is not a "gray" area. It is not appropriate, period. People were fired when this happened last time and they were fired when it happened this time.

If there wasn't a legitimate concern about this breach of privacy, two people would not already have been fired because of it.

I was talking about privacy laws ONLY not the case involving Obama, what was done was illegal and yes people were rightly fired.
