Does anyone local have insight? This looks like an interesting race.

Trump tweeted out support for Balderson after his original tweet for a guy who won his primary in May.

FYI, that’s a tossup race in a district with a Cook Political Report Partisan Voting Index (PVI) of R+7, meaning it’s voting record is 7% more Republican than the national average.

The district does have some similarities to PA-18. Republican district that is a combination of suburban areas and rural areas outside of Columbus. It is the most affluent and well educated district in the state. Unlike the rest of the state which swung heavily towards Trump there was only minimal movement in the district between 2012 and 2016 (10 and 11 point margins) but some huge swings within it. The more rural sections of the district swung heavily towards Trump, while the closer suburban Columbus portions of the district swung heavily against Trump.

If O'Connor is going to win this he likely needs to run up the score in Franklin County (20-25) and cut the margin to single digits in Delaware County. If he doesn't do that it will be tough.

If the Republican wins and the margin is less than 20 points ...... Democrats will claim a WIN.
I guess we will all know in a couple of days ..... press is heavily against the GOP.

No doubt, President Trump will refer to how Lebron James is 'low educated' when compared to him, which will go over well with Ohio.

On all new channels tonight and all the news web sites are Trump showing the speeches and support of the GOP candidate at Trump's Ohio rally.

Free advertising, given by the press at prime time, FOR the GOP candidate, not against.

When it comes down to it for it to be a win for the Democrats they need to win the seat. However, considering the district if the Republicans eek out a narrow victory it is likely not a good sign for them for November.

Absolutely. Three days of free advertising for Balderson. Is that a toupee? Oh, and btw - he doesn't want FRANKLIN COUNTY representing Ohio in Congress. Never mind that's it's THE biggest county in OH.

She didn't lose Franklin county. You know, where the people are and a big chuck of this special election.

Nobody takes Democrats opinions seriously, so it makes no difference what they claim.
They are only alive to whine and cry, and everybody knows it.
