Probably so. America right now is shifting from an era of weak institution and strong individualism to an era of strong institutions and weak individualism. Trump represents that shift. People don't care about the details because most people are focused on the big picture; the strengthening of our institutions (police, military, the church) and forcing our culture in line with conservative WASP values.

Why would we want to go back to the sluggish days of meager existence under democrats rule ?

We like wining and Trump is a winner and champion for America.
He produces result and prosperity.

It could go either way. We are truly very divided as a country. It's just going to depend on how many people get out and vote. Look how close it was last time.
