Take a look at the Roman empire for more information....or Iraq and the Sunni/Shiite/Kurd mix...

What liberals want is a poor, illiterate, immigrant class in America that CAN vote. Americans are NOT buying into the radical Liberal changes to Communism in America.

So liberals have a plan: open the borders and make 50% of the US Population to be poor, foreign, and illiterate. Welfare candidates. Guaranteed voters who will do anything for a bowl of food or a few bucks from the federal government.

Let's go for the BHO quote:

"..Understand this: instead of worrying whether immigrants will learn English, you need to make sure your child [in America] can speak Spanish. You should be thinking of how your child can become bilingual...".

- Barack Hussein Obama

YouTube - Barack Obama: Your Children Should Learn To Speak Spanish

So the Obama message here is: Spanish will likely become the dominant language in the United States once Obama amnesty the 20 - 30 million illegal aliens in the United States right now so these 20-30 million people can chain migrate 180 - 200 million more immigrants, thus making Spanish the official language of more than 50% of America!

I am not a McCain fan. But after being called bitter for my religious beliefs, after being mocked for not speaking French, after being told I need to speak Spanish in the United States, after being threatened to have more than 50% of my income stolen by the government in taxes (I make $38,000/year), after being told "choice" is about killing babies, that marriage and Christian principles mean nothing - all these insults by a liberal junior Illinois Senator, who attended a racist, anti-American "church" for 20 years, who is endorsed by Hezbollah, a terrorist group and by a racist like Louis Farrahkan of the Nation of Islam - I have to say:

JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT 2008!

English is America's language!!! It's what keeps us together!

It's time to diversify energy (drill, refine, wind, solar, nuclear, ethanol, and more)!

Let's win in Iraq; we are almost there!

Let's keep taxes low to stimulate the economy again!

Let's preserve life, end the drilling of baby's heads the day before birth!

Keep the 2nd alive! It's a RIGHT, not a favor!

Marriage is between a man and a woman!

JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT 2008!

It is but of course LEGAL IMMIGRANTS know that. The illiterate illegal peasants that have come here uninvited have chosen to ignore that particular rule along with every single one of our laws.

Lol...this topic is hilarious.

Does anyone else find it comical that the biggest complainers have the least command of simple grammar and proper usage of English? There's nothing wrong with learning a second language, heck I have family members who can speak more than six....

I do speak Spanish, it's a useful second language in the United States, how many countries do you know will accomodate you in jobs and schools in your own language besides the United States. C'mon Mexico would just laugh at you, if you want your kids to go to a Mexican public school and have the curriculum changed to English. Learning a foreign language is great, just it's practical and helps society function with one common language, which we have used since the founding of our country, that of English.

And French well my pop speaks French and told me not to learn it, as we know the lingua franc is in decline as well as France as a superpower. Socialism has failed France time and time agagin. A French ambassador came to visit the United States in its founding days, that of Alexis de Toqcueville, the most famous writer of early American democracy stating that socialism was the logical result of a flaw inherent to the philosophy underpinning the French revolution “It was this desire of grafting political liberty onto institutions and an ideology that were unsuited, indeed adverse to it, but to which the French had gradually become addicted – it was this desire of combining freedom with the servile state that led during the last sixty years to so many abortive essays of a free régime followed by disastrous revolutions. […] Many Frenchmen have lost their taste for freedom and come to think that, after all, an autocratic government under which all men are equal has something to be said for it.”

If you don't think your children would benefit from learning Spanish, then keep them from learning it. When children of the less ignorant are able to get jobs open only to bilingual applicants (and this number is growing), they will be laughing all the way to the bank.
Here's one for you...What do all liberal's call republicans? BOSS! Or for this thread JEFFE!

The second lanaguage that you choose should be just that YOUR CHOICE not the federal govt. I made the choice to learn spanish as I live in Texas and 99% of my employees were Hispanic. Many other states have a large German, Japanese, French or Korean or Muslim population so why spanish and only spanish. Why not assimilate to America and her heritage as all other generations and countries do. When I lived overseas I had to learn the langugage of the country I lived in.

This isn't a defense of illegal immigration, just a reminder that Mongo is but pawn, in game of life.
The fact that corporate America has been subliminally trying to cram it down our throats for the last 10 years has left a bitter taste for that language in my mouth. I literally hate the sound of it and I cringe whenever I hear it.

Keep in mind I hear other languages on a daily basis, none of those languages have that affect upon me . . . . just spanish.

The US has always been a multilingual country. I grew up in PA where German was and is as frequently spoken as English on the north side of town, and Spanish was and is spoken as frequently as English on the south side of town. The original settlers in the colony spoke all the major European languages, as well as French if you were part of any diplomatic entourage. We hear all the complaints about our failing school system and the lack of language skills is one of the main failings. To note a shortcoming and suggest it be attacked and growth occur, is a good thing, not a bad thing.
