I think we'd have to go to Eastern Europe to find people as conservative as we are. Or Saudi Arabia.

When my great uncle was deputy treasurer of Hungary, he knew Viktor Orban who later founded the center right Fidesz party, first democratic ruling government after the end of the socialist era. Sadly, the country has a socialist prime minister once again.

Europeans Perceive Stake in U.S. Election

A large majority of citizens in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany say it makes a difference to their country who is elected U.S. president, and a majority in each of these countries choose Barack Obama over John McCain for U.S. president.

Well today will give us the opportunity to see if Obama can back up the hype. Lots of risk and lots of reward depending on how it goes. If it goes well you will hear from the Obama supporters if it goes poorly you will here from the McCain supporters. Wait a minute how ever it goes he will be praised and slammed anyway by the respective sides. Should be interesting to read the posts.

Dating back to before the Revolutionary War European nations have been allies to America. It would behoove us to forge closer ties to these nations in efforts to facilitate international trade and diplomacy. Though I admit I have fewer years of experience than Senator McCain, I believe that my policy of openness and willingness to reinforce relations with other countries is best for America.

Hoover Institution - What's New - U.S. Senator John McCain Delivers Policy Address at Hoover Institution

The McCain speech from last year. A good read and begs the question, if Europe respects him enough to join him on the journey?
