The Portalski family is accustomed to hearing Cindy McCain described as Hensley's only child.
She's been described that way by news organizations from The New YorkerThe New York Times to Newsweek and ABC.
McCain herself routinely uses the phrase "only child," as she did on CNN last month.
"I'm upset," Kathleen Portalski says. "I'm angry. It makes me feel like a nonperson, kind of."
...
When Hensley died in 2000, his will named not only Portalski but also a daughter of his wife Marguerite from her earlier marriage. So, Cindy McCain may be the only product of Jim and Marguerite's marriage, but she is not the only child of either.
She was, however, the sole inheritor of his considerable estate.
Kathleen Portalski was left $10,000, and her children were left nothing. It's a fact Nicholas Portalski says his sister discovered the hard way.
"What she found in town — on the day of or the day before or the day after his funeral — was that the credit card didn't work anymore," Nick says.

Big whoop. If you grow up in a home as the only child and you have "half" siblings that you don't know then of course you would consider yourself an only child. Keep grasping at these ridiculous straws.

Gee, I wonder if you're right - that Cindy has never known she had this sister. I look forward to reading about their first joyful meeting!
Does Mrs. McCain help her sister, considering her immense wealth?
I dont know, maybe that's why the sister is coming out now:

Cindy's dad died in 2000, her mom in 2006.
An earlier poster says Cindy didnt know about this sister at all. In which case yes, definitely Oprah, with new cars all 'round!

Could you even imagine having a president who's wife has a half sister.!!! That's it, I am voting for Obama. Thank you for that valuable information. And to think I was going to vote for McCain. I am forever indebted to you.
