But as president, he will have to meet with people far worse than Obama. Is he going to show this same disrespect when meeting with other world leaders he may not agree with? Did Regan show this kind of disrespect to Gorby? Did Nixon snear at the Chinese leaders when he went to China? Obviously, I haven't seen this encounter, but I saw the disdain, disrespect, and anger in the debates. I saw McCain reluctantly shake hand before/after the debate. Part of diplomacy is being able to "fake" emotions, or at least suppress what you really think and feel, so that you can negotiate.

Looks like Obama showed guts and McCain averted his eyes and cowered, just like in the debate. True statesman, that Obama.

Maybe he's not two-faced. Obama says horrible things about McCain and then is friendly to his face. Maybe McCain says things about Obama but MEANS them and is not going to act like they are friends when they meet.

McCain is lacking in a very important skill for the Commander in Chief:

Main Entry:
di·plo·ma·cy
Pronunciation:
\də-ˈplō-mə-sē\
Function:
noun
Date:
1796

1 : the art and practice of conducting negotiations between nations
2 : skill in handling affairs without arousing hostility : tact

But they are both in the senate and have to work together (and if I recall, McCain called for bipartisanship and working together just days ago). There are people I work with I'm not particularly fond of, but I am able to look them in the eye, shake their hands, and we congratulate each other honestly when we get stuff done. That McCain cannot handle someone as innocuous as Obama leads me to wonder how he'd act if he had to sit down across the table from Chavez, or Ahmadinejad.

This doesn't surprise me.

McCain is a very pathetic man as evidenced by his debate performance last week.

He might have been avoiding a photo of himself and Obama smiling and shaking hands - could have been a professional move.

Or, maybe he just wears his sullen, "testy" attitude on his sleeve - see the Des Moines Register interview videos - which makes him look childish and sullen.

Or - both.

I've figured it out. The USA is populated by an ever growing number of morons who have a "what can you do for me?" attitude.

CQ Politics | Beyond the Dome - Obama Makes McCain Very Uncomfortable

"Let the record reflect that Barack Obama made the approach to John McCain tonight.

As the two shared the Senate floor tonight for the first time since they won their party nominations, Obama stood chatting with Democrats on his side of the aisle, and McCain stood on the Republican side of the aisle.

So Obama crossed over into enemy territory.

He walked over to where McCain was chatting with Republican Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida and Independent Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut. And he stretched out his arm and offered his hand to McCain.

McCain shook it, but with a “go away” look that no one could miss. He tried his best not to even look at Obama.

Finally, with a tight smile, McCain managed a greeting: “Good to see you.”

Obama got the message. He shook hands with Martinez and Lieberman — both of whom greeted him more warmly — and quickly beat a retreat back to the Democratic side."
He always has that "tight smile" - he's just so creepy.

For the record, I really don't care for either candidate at all, but I'll choose the lesser of the two evils in both categories, president and vice president.
IF you watched the DEBATE it was obvious , on tape, on TV, in front of MILLIONS of people, eye witnesses that McCain never LOOKED at Obama.....how much more proof do you need ? He even shook hands with him after the debate without looking at him.

McCAIN BRAGGED ABOUT reaching across the aisle...and he can't even LOOK across the aisle??????

Politicians HAVE to "fake" being cordial and polite even if they don't feel like it...it's their job .
How will mcCain act with heads of states he doesn't like???? If he acts like a pouty child will that help us in foreign relations????
