George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon.
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) The DOW JONES hit a record high -- 14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars,taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes -- we got 'CHANGE' all right.

In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) As I write, THE DOW is probing another low ~ $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ....

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.

AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!

JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND???

I received this from friends of mine who wanted me to pass it along.

Do you people REALLY think these posts work at changing anyone's opinion?

Nobama will bring change alright, problem is people haven't taken the time to figure out what kind of change he's going to bring. Once his supporters see his change they will look back at 2008 and say those were actually the good old days.

All good points bentlebee.

Only people who can't vote should tell us how to vote.

4 More years, 4 more years.

They have unique objectivity.

4 More years, 4 more years.

The bubble was ready to burst for some time. It is just the Republican's misfortune that it burst before the election and not after the election.

FactCheck.org: Did electing a Democratic Congress in 2006 really lead to increased unemployment, higher gas prices and more home foreclosures? (http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_electing_a_democratic_congress_in_2006.html - broken link)

Q:
Did electing a Democratic Congress in 2006 really lead to increased unemployment, higher gas prices and more home foreclosures?
I received this by e-mail and I’ve also seen it posted as a comment on a lot of blogs and news sites. Is there any truth to it?

A:
No, and most of the figures in a widely-circulated e-mail are made up. In fact, the entire premise of the e-mail is a logical fallacy.
Like most of the chain e-mails making the rounds, this one is inaccurate. Some claims are outright false while others are grossly out of context. Overall, the e-mail commits the logical fallacy known as post hoc ergo propter hoc (or after the fact, therefore because of the fact).

Now that you mention it - I'm convinced too!!

It's all the Democrat's fault - the Republicans have never done anything wrong - EVER.

Bush did a WONDERFUL job as President!

Bush/McCain/Palin/Cheney FOREVER!!!!

Too many on this board are incapable of listening to reason.
