Palin doesnt like America very much! She thinks most AMERICANS ARE UNAMERICAN AND UNPATRIOTIC.

What Palin and others don't realize that it is very much the American tradition to dissent and to speak out against the government! Our country was born in revolution. To favor Socialism isnt anti american; to be against this war, or all wars, isnt anti American, to be a pacifist or anti-military isnt un American. To uphold the goal that a family can support itself on one or two jobs and send their kids to college and face illness without losing ones home...that is the AMERICAN dream.

Attempts to silence dissent; to divide and promote hatred and distrust; to deny individual liberty, basic rights and to advocate the dissolution of the Union.....that is Un American.

It is Un-American to label whole regions of the country as unpatriotic. It is also stupid--but what would one expect considering the messenger.

But its all right with me if Palin/McCain want to write off the population centers where most Americans live and garner the votes from a few towns no larger than Wasila; I would never insult the vast majority of Americans, but who am I to advise her that you don't win by insulting the majority when you think they aren't listening. I wish she would go to Philly and tell them that they aren't good Americans.....don't talk behind our back Sarah.....tell us what you really think of us.

Yes, this "loony left wing lib" is definitely afraid of the Facist Twins Palin and Bachmann getting into office.

Healthy fear is the exact opposite of ignorant acceptance.

So in other words, she appeals to those with limited intellect when she makes statements like these?

Thats what I think you are trying to say here.

This sentiment has been expressed elsewhere on CD on topics other than politics. There is a notion that rural, small-town America somehow represents the "real" America. I kind of like those areas myself, though do not currently live there. It is problematic in a small town to hold an opinion that is different from the majority b/c there isn't much of a minority. I'm talking opinion, not racial now.

Cities are more diverse by their very nature, and people have at least observed those of different races, religions, etc. Generally, one works with a variety of people in the city. Knowing a Muslim, or a Bhuddist, or people of different races is not unheard of. I saw a show on PBS (I think) last night about someone who wouldn't vote for Obama b/c of his name! This was in a small town, I won't say what state. Not that it couldn't happen in the city, but it seemed to me this woman was afraid of BO b/c she never had encountered anyone with a "foreign" sounding name like his before.

Sarah needs to broaden her horizons a bit.

This story line is getting very old. I, for one, am afraid of her politics of division. I said it here on CD before Joe Biden said it.

Democrats run around encouraging everyone to accept and embrace their homosexual sons and daughters. As immoral as homosexuality is, Democrats think that they should teach little children ( all children in public schools ) that it's cool to have two ***** Daddies. Yet hateful liberals can't accept Sarah Palin.

Palin is right. There is a difference between being Pro American and Tearing America Down. America, no matter how you look at it, economically or otherwise, should not be a valueless country. Democrats don't enforce values or teach their kids right from wrong. It's too hard. Kids imitate their parents and have become as egocentric and "entitled" as them.

"Mommy and Mommy, will things be better someday when I get checks in the mail from a Democratic President?"

What's wrong with that kind of question? And what parts of America preach the "something for nothing" philosophy? Entitlement and perversion are not good attributes for any society, yet Democrats push for more of it. This is not Pro American. It is apathy and laziness. Should people be proud of the parts of America that really make an effort to undermine a wholesome country?

Ya know, Democrats are always talking about our reputation abroad. Middle Eastern countries didn't suddenly hate America in the last eight years. They have always hated America's tolerance for immoral behavior. Promotion of homosexuality is just one example of what they hate about the West. Don't tell me that this isn't true.

Some areas of our country equate being Pro American with "having the freedom to be irresponsible". And when they need something all they have to do is start crying like babies. Just raise taxes on those who work. Democrats have no problem holding their hand out. That is not Pro American.

I wnt to the symphony orchestra in Portland Maine the other evening; Portland is a pretty solid Democratic town....at the opening of the concert, the orchestra played the National Anthem and everyone stood and sang out full voice....it filled that huge auditorium! It was beautiful.

Another view: I sometimes go to a gay piano bar in Ogunquit and when the pianist plays the National anthem people stop the chatter, and sing out their love of their country.... (and in the summer when the tourists are in town...Oh Canada....does pretty well as a show stopper as well).

Sarah Palin and her American Independence Party pals that she hangs out with don't even begin to know what true Patriotism is.....they honor a man who cursed our country and our flag and won't even have his body buried in Alsaka until it secceeds from the hated United States of America. That is the party that her husband joined and that she as Governor welcomed and congratulated.

If this were the American Revolution, McCain/Palin and their followers would be the Tories while Obama and the Democrats more closely represent our founding fathers. When our own government violates the Constitution and ignores our founding principles, real patriots stand up against it while Tories follow the regime like sheep.

Anti-war: Most soliders are anti-war, does this mean they are anti-American? Show me someone who loves war and I'll show you someone who has never experienced it and stands no chance of ever experiencing it. I guess its easy to be rah-rah when someone else does the fighting - its not a football game, its for real. Military folks and their families prefer leaders who seriously consider how and when they are deployed, unlike the current regime and the follow-on GOP ticket.

Anti-military: When I was in the Army, the people who looked down their nose at me were the uber rich GOP types like Cindy McCain. People like Palin act like they like the military to pander for votes - we know its all phony. McCain did serve with honor and he paid one heck of a price along the way - but, his judgement on Iraq has been dismal (starting in 2002/2003). There are as many anti-military rich GOP types as there are radical left college professors who are anti-military. Nice try though.

Indoctrinating into socialism? Do you mean corporate welfare and tax breaks for fat cats, not to mention the socialization of our financial industry brought on by Republican policies and a Republican administration. By the way, 95% of roads and bridges are "socialized", not to mention fire and police services, libraries, schools, the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Border Patrol, FBI, CIA, State Department, NOAA, National Park Service, courts of law, most prison systems, etc - and no one seems to mind.

The Republican party does not have a monopoly on loving this country.
God is not a Republican.
Standing up for your country's principles is not un-American, it is the embodiement of being an American.
