Does anyone here actually know what Marx advocated? It wasn't government intervention. It was peasant rebellion.

Obama can multi task and has used different platforms and ideas from all the collectivism type societies. Mainly the dangling of carrots in front of the people after reminding them how horrible their lives are.

Yes, but in real life that would be Utopia and no country has anything near that.
In real life socialism is government intervention, politics 101.

I didn't say he wasn't a socialist. But he's no Marxist. He can't be as he's running for President to make change rather than leading a rebellion. McCain has socialist tendencies as well. See the Bailout and his mortgage purchase plan. They're about even on the socialism scale.

Good article from Fox site
Obama Dismisses Accusations of Socialism « FOX Embeds « FOXNews.com
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - It seems every time the McCain camp launches an attack Barack Obama’s way, the frontrunner dismisses it like a tennis player who is about to smash a softly lobbed ball into oblivion.

For two days now John McCain has used the “s” word - socialism - in addition to “welfare” and “government giveaway” when talking about Obama’s tax cut proposals. At his rally in North Carolina today, Obama responded forcefully, called McCain’s tactics “the oldest trick in the book,” a scare tactic, and nothing more than name calling.

All that while Obama uses every old trick in the book to gather kool aid drinkers. How ironic and hypocritical of him.

McCain needs to stop the personal attacks directed specifically towards Obama. He needs to remind the uneducated people who don't have a clue about history what collectivism means and what it has meant throughout our history. No matter what utopia and lies are spread saying other wise to shove it down the peoples throat.

Pretty much the equivilent of "no I'm not, you are" nah nah nah... And what kills me (oops that's not terrorist threats is it?) is that people just lap it up, he (the chosen one) says it's so it MUST be true...

Spreading the weath down is socialist. By the way no communist society has ever lasted. WAKE UP!

EQUAL and FAIR are 2 different things all together. equal does equate to socialism sorry!!! fair is what this country used to be all about. you work hard and it pays off. now, under obama you work hard and get less and others do nothing and get more. GET IT!!!!
But it's an undeniable fact that everybody has to pay taxes in some way. There is no escaping from paying taxes unless you lead a very primitive life style out in the middle of no where.
