Michelle Obama gets her clothes made for her by a Chicago Designer!!!
Maria Pinto whose clothes start at $250.00 for a silk blouse and goes up to $5,000.00 for a gown!
WOW IMAGINE IT!
Yep, Barneys and Saks carry her stuff too!
WOW!..
It is highly insulting for her to pretend to shop regularly at Target and other stores for "HER" clothes when anyone knows full well that her suits, silk dresses, her blouses are NOT from TARGET or GAP!
But yet people really do believe they are???
And will rail on Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain for what they wear..
Courteney Cox, Sharon Stone and Christina Ricci also have worn Pinto creations. Because Pinto doesn't give her clothes away, she isn't always privy to who's buying them. Barneys New York and Saks Fifth Avenue carry her accessories. Takashimaya in New York also carries her ready-to-wear.
It was Pinto's unique stoles and wraps—hanging like paintings in her boutique—that first earned her acclaim.

Chicago Fashion Designer Keeps Michelle Obama in Style
Chicago -- Midwest fashion hasn't historically measured up to the runways of Paris or New York. But on the campaign trail, at least one Chicago designer is getting a huge look right now. Maria Pinto is helping Michelle Obama bring style to the stump.

Oh that is the response to M. Obama interesting how the clothes Palin and Cindy wear are national news? How dare they spend so much for clothes when M. Obama does too!
That 5,000 for a gown is about equal to the 5000 Palin gave her daughter to buy a designer purse. Do you really want to got tit for tat. Maybe we can throw in the 300,000 outfit McCains wife wore at the convention. Hey though we have to be careful how we spend right. I mean according to Palin she and her husband are feeling the economic pinch just like us. I think my wife would LOVE to have alife where spending 150000 on clothes was okay.
The campaign did not buy her these clothes with our campaign contributions. I care nothing about what Michelle Obama or Cindy McCain or Sarah Palin wears or buys on their own dime (why am I suddenly flashing back to Nancy Reagan's gowns). I do find it odd that the Republicans, the party of supposed fiscal restraint, felt it necessary to spend so much on clothing though.
That being said, this 'scandal' is a tempest in a teapot and I really care very little about the issue (finding it more amusing in a soap operaesque fashion than anything), interesting that you've gotten all up in arms about it.
Michelle is not using $150K of campaign funds to finance her clothing. Michelle is a smart woman and I'm sure either her or the DNC arraigned for her to wear Maria Pinto's designs as endorsements; something the McCain/Palin camp could have easily done as well.

I guess you didn't get it the first time, so let me repeat.
The issue isn't how people spend their own money, it is how a campaign spends the money of others. Additionally what you don't seem to get is that Palin was being sold by the GOP as your ordinary Hockey Mom, well I don't know many Hockey Moms, out side of Mrs. Gretzky, who has a $150,000 wardrobe.
Michelle Obama is a highly paid lawyer, and she buys clothes accordingly.
